The Chilliwack School District has partnered with the University of the Fraser Valley to develop a dual credit program for students interested in pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Grade 12 Students can now get a head start on their post-secondary studies while also earning high school course credits, and have opportunities to work and learn from professionals in local child care centres.
Tuition fees are covered by the School District. Ancillary fees, books and materials are the student's responsibility.
Students must be enrolled and completing English 12, and have completed English 11, Math 11 and received C+ or higher in English 10 and Math 10.
Students must have the intention to graduate with a Dogwood diploma (B.C. Graduation Certificate).
Students that complete the ECE Dual-Credit program will meet the requirements for the Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certification, making them immediately eligible to work in a variety of childcare settings.
